What is on board the Axopar 38 Cross Top?

The helm and its flip-back sofa

The sofa backrest at the helm flips over: face forward on the way, face the group at anchor.

The aft and bow lounges

The aft lounge converts from a dining table for lunch at anchor into one large sun pad. The bow lounge table lowers into a second sun pad, used at anchor, for example on a private sunset cruise.

Cabin, galley and comfort on board

The forward cabin holds a saloon with a walnut table, a galley unit with a sink and a private restroom with its own hot and cold shower. A refrigerator under the helm, a wet bar on the aft deck, a Bluetooth sound system and USB and 220 V outlets complete the boat; drinks and meals are arranged on request and can be paid for on board.

What changes when the boat is at anchor?

Fold-down bulwarks become terraces

The sides of the boat (bulwarks) fold down only at anchor, forming terraces at water level. While the boat is moving and at the dock, they stay closed.

Swimming and the outdoor shower

Swimming happens only at anchor, when the skipper gives the go-ahead; the outdoor shower is there for a rinse. For a swim-focused trip, see the Lérins Islands by private boat.

How is safety handled on board?

A qualified professional skipper is always at the helm while the boat is moving, so you need no boating license. Your skipper checks the sea before every departure and has the final say on board. Children are welcome: life jackets for every age, including SOLAS-certified infant life jackets, are on board, as required by regulations.

Questions

Where do guests sit while the boat is moving?

In good weather, guests sit wherever they like: your skipper decides on the day which seats to use, depending on the sea. The fold-down terraces open only at anchor.

Is there somewhere to change on board?

Yes: the cabin, with its saloon and private restroom, is a sheltered place to change before or after a swim. The outdoor shower, with hot and cold water, is there for a rinse.

Cross Top, Cross Cabin or Sun Top: which Axopar 38 is this?

It is the Cross Top: the helm is open at the sides, under a roof and behind a reverse windshield, with a cabin at the bow that holds a private restroom. Axopar also builds the 38 in other versions, such as the Sun Top and the Cross Cabin, which encloses the helm in a wheelhouse.

Is a skipper always on board?

Yes. Sillages Riviera only offers the boat with its professional skipper, who stays at the helm whenever the boat is moving, so you need no boating license. For a full day at sea, see boat rental with skipper in Cannes.
